We are down to only 3 weeks left in this year’s session of the Oklahoma State Legislature.  The legislature has passed a resolution that they will adjourn no later than Friday, May 23rd.  An overall agreement on the budget has been reached and signed by the Governor.  This agreement is for a “stand still budget” for next year that essentially mirrors the $7.1 billion agreed upon last year.  Individual appropriations bill still have to be passed but the message is very clear that there will be no new funding available!

During the next 3 weeks the focus will be on passing the individual appropriations bills and writing conference committee reports for the bills that have been sent to conference.  There will be lots of work to be done but it is doable.

As soon as the legislative session is over we anticipate political campaigns to kick into high gear.  This means we can anticipate and avalanche of requests for political contributions.  Election cycle is as follows:

Primary Election
Tuesday, July 29

Runoff Primary Election
Tuesday, August 26

General Election
Tuesday, November 4
